At Western International University, the degree programs are specifically designed for working adults. Western International University (WIU) has eight convenient locations and online learning through WIU Interactive Online. The multicultural, international student population help students achieve the kind of cultural understanding that today's workers need to have. WIU offers weekend and evening classes to allow working adults to continue their current commitments to job, family, and friends. And the faculty at WIU are all experienced working professionals who teach within an individual learning model.
Western International University's goal is student success. In order to reach this goal, they provide students, faculty, and staff with a Learning Resource Center, featuring resources for reference and research, as well as an extensive assortment of business journals and reference books. The Learning Resource Center also has computers with T1 Internet connections for research and free email. The Online Collection gives students access to databases with millions of full text articles, documents, reference sources, directories, and financial data. And the WIU Writing Center provides assistance with writing assignments, from research papers to theses.
Western International University was founded as a non-profit institution in 1978 in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1980, it became accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and, in 1995, it joined the Apollo Group, Inc., a leading U.S. educational corporation. Today, WIU is committed to providing educational innovation and high-quality degree programs through its campuses in Phoenix, Chandler, Scottsdale, and Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Students are given the opportunity to demonstrate their individual achievement, and all faculty are experienced practitioners with advanced degrees in their fields.
