Western Culinary Academy is a French culinary institute that offers professionally-taught, hands-on education programs, including the Pattisserie, Culinary Arts, and Hospitality and Restaurant Management programs. When students graduate from these programs, they receive the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu designation, which often opens doors to many types of culinary careers in the United States and around the world. Culinary students study at the main campus, as well as the satellite location, which includes lecture room and hands-on facilities. Restaurant management students attend classes at the Goose Hollow Building, an 11,000 square foot facility that features three kitchen labs, two computer labs, a wine studies lab, a lecture classroom, and a student lounge area.
Western Culinary Institute is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT), which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Students who attend WCI come from a wide array of backgrounds. They may be business professionals desiring career change, recent high school graduates, or veterans of the restaurant industry who want to expand by earning a diploma from the culinary arts program. All of them share one trait, and that is a passion for cooking and service. And all of them have access to Western Culinary Institute's friendly Financial Assistance staff, who can help them identify realistic methods for financing their education.
WCI is dedicated to helping their graduates find the right jobs after graduation. They maintain a comprehensive and experienced Career Services Department that provides students with ongoing job placement assistance both during and after their educational experience. The staff of the Career Services Department work with academics and industry professionals to help students develop a career path that will make sure they attain their hospitality and culinary goals. WCI also offers an externship experience in which students gain direct industry contacts and new skills.
