The South University admissions process is not lengthy. To be accepted at South University, students must be a high school graduate or have the equivalent GED (General Education Development Certificate) with a score of 225 or higher. After meeting this qualification, applicants must also fulfill one of the following criteria:

• Have achieved a satisfactory score on one of the college entrance examinations (SAT, ACT, or CPT), or
• Have earned 30 college quarter credit hours (20 college semester credit hours), with a cumulative GPA of 2.0, or
• Have a bachelor's degree or higher

To help shorten the time it takes to complete a degree, South University will evaluate the following for possible transfer credit: CLEP, DANTES, Transfer Credits, ACE certifications, and military experience/training.
