The Scottsdale Culinary Institute, located in gorgeous Scottsdale, Arizona, is home to the world-famous Le Cordon Bleu education programs in culinary arts and patisserie baking. The Institute is owned by the Career Education Corporation (CEC), which is part of a global network of over 50 campuses. CEC is the world's largest provider of private, postsecondary education in multiple, career-oriented disciplines, as well as the world's largest provider of Le Cordon Bleu culinary arts education. Le Cordon Bleu programs are extremely challenging and emphasize hands-on education. Students gain the knowledge, skills, and credentials they need to compete in today's highly competitive job market.
SCI is located in Scottsdale, Arizona, a city surrounded by world famous resorts and restaurants known far and wide for their diverse Southwestern cuisine. The Scottsdale area has enjoys more than 300 days of sunny weather every year, creating a popular outdoor lifestyle. The SCI faculty are committed to student success and have over 600 years of combined experience. The Institute's full-time Chef-Instructors focus only on student education and culinary arts education. All are industry-experienced, have met Le Cordon Bleu's rigorous standards, and are able to prepare students for the abundant and diverse positions available in the food industry.
Scottsdale Culinary Institute is comprised of two campuses: the Main Campus and the Sky Bridge Campus. The Main Campus is 45,000 square feet and includes 8 kitchens, a meat shop, the library and student study center, and the student-run L'Ecole fine dining restaurant. The 50,000 square foot Sky Bridge Campus is both a culinary arts and patisserie and baking teaching facility, and features 11 kitchens, and affiliated production kitchen, an International Cuisine kitchen, the Showpieces kitchen, an Advanced Baking kitchen, a Studio Demonstration kitchen, and the student-run restaurant, L'Academie. All facilities are equipped with industry-current facilities, from heavy-duty ranges, to flashbake ovens, to large freestanding mixers, and more.
Students at SCI are expected to demonstrate their motivation and ambition, including the physical, intellectual, and artistic capabilities needed for success; a positive attitude, love of cooking, and energetic approach; and a high school diploma or an equivalency certificate (GED). Prospective students can schedule a visit to the campus where they can talk with students and chef instructors and get a sense of the school and the academic environment. During the tour, students meet with an admissions representative and a financial assistance planner to find out how they can begin education for a rewarding career.
