The Louisville Technical Institute (LTI) was founded in 1961. It is a school of over 600 students located in Louisville, Kentucky's largest city. As with any major metropolitan area, Louisville is a center of art, communication, culture, design, entertainment, fine dining, history, nightlife, and industry.

Louisville Tech is part of the Sullivan University System of colleges including Sullivan University in Louisville, Lexington, and Fort Knox; as well as Spencerian College in Louisville and Lexington.

The main facility of the Louisville Technical Institute and its Interior Design program consists of over 48,000 square feet of classrooms, labs, studios, and student service areas. Students are provided with industrial-quality computer-aided design equipment, electrical/electronic diagnostic equipment, robots, drafting equipment, design laboratories, and learning resource centers for training in the latest technologies.

The Marine Mechanics Technology program has its own dedicated facility that has 7,000 square feet of space. This facility has labs that are supplied with a variety of equipment found in the marine industry.

The Louisville Technical Institute provides career specific training and awards certificates, diplomas, and associate degrees in a variety of technical and creative fields to graduates of both day and evening programs. LTI offers eight programs of study in high-demand fields, including:

Louisville Technical Institute certificate and diploma programs can be completed in as little as nine months. Associate degree programs take 18 to 24 months to complete. All programs feature small class sizes, extensive hands-on training (as much as 65%), and a four-day school week (Monday through Thursday) allowing extra time for students to meet with faculty or spend in labs.
