The Illinois School of Health Careers (ISHC) was founded in 1990. It is a school of over 300 students with two locations in Chicago, Illinois - one on the South Loop and an extension campus near O'Hare Airport.
The Illinois School of Health Careers is a wholly owned subsidiary of ForeFront Education, Inc. Forefront owns and operates seven schools in the United States in California, Florida, Illinois, and Pennsylvania.
The mission of the Illinois School of Health Careers is to provide quality educational and training opportunities to those individuals seeking the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain entry-level employment in the allied health or computer professions. The Illinois School of Health Careers provides a climate that emphasizes individual worth, human dignity and the value of work, responsibility and achievement.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, health care services will account for almost one-fifth of all job growth in the United States. The Illinois School of Health Careers specializes in training individuals for entry-level careers in Health Care. ISHC offers specialized career training for:

Admission to the Illinois School of Health Careers is a simple process. All applicants must:
- Be at least 17 years of age
- Submit a diploma, certificate or other proof of graduation from an institution providing secondary education or the relevant equivalent of such graduation, such as a GED certificate
- For students enrolled in an allied health program, a statement of general health signed by the student must be submitted to the school
- Students in the Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy programs must have Hepatitis B series inoculations and a Tuberculosis test
The Illinois School of Health Careers takes career placement very seriously. ISHC assists graduating students with job preparation and employment search activities. ISHC will provide students with:
- Assistance with resume preparation
- Assistance with job interview techniques
- Assistance with job search strategies
- Medical Assistant and Dental Assistant students will take employment preparation courses
Additional student services provided by the Illinois School of Health Careers include: a student orientation, and student counseling services.
The Illinois School of Health Careers is institutionally (non-degree) accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). ABHES is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. ISHC is approved to operate by the Illinois State Board of Education, a member of Career College Association and American Massage Therapy Association, as well as an authorized provider of health education through the American Red Cross.
