Hesser College was founded in 1900. Hesser is a multi-campus institution with five campuses in New Hampshire in Concord, Manchester, Nashua, Portsmouth, and Salem. The combined enrollment at Hesser is over 3,000 students.

Hesser College has a rolling admission policy. Students may apply for admission at any time. Following are the specific requirements and procedures that Hesser College has established for admission.
- An applicant to the College must be a high school graduate, or possess a General Education Development (GED) certificate, or possess a Home Study certificate or transcript from a Home Study program that is equivalent to high school level and is recognized by the student's home state.
- Applicants must complete the required admissions documents and submit the necessary fee(s)
- Applicants must complete an informational interview
- Applicants must complete an Enrollment Agreement
- Students must have any required health examinations, pathology tests and immunizations completed prior to beginning clinical courses, fieldwork training or an externship experience
