Gonzaga University, one of 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States, was founded in 1887. Gonzaga University has 5,400 students and is based in Spokane, Washington. Gonzaga offers bachelor's, master's, and doctor's degrees as well as post-masters certificates. Gonzaga consists of five undergraduate schools offering eight degrees in 92 fields of study. The University also offers degrees in 20 master's programs, one Ph.D., and a Juris Doctor through the Gonzaga University School of Law.

Gonzaga University now offers its highly regarded M.A. in Organizational Leadership program online, in addition to evenings and weekends. Students who who reside outside of Spokane are considered online students. Online courses are offered on a unique eight-week class schedule. There is a residency requirement for online students consisting of a three-day, intensive experience of the course Leadership and Imagination, followed by six to eight weeks of Internet discussion.

The M.A. in Organizational Leadership is an interdisciplinary program that integrates knowledge and research from the social sciences, communication, arts and the humanities. The objective of the program is to provide an advanced degree that synthesizes knowledge from diverse fields that is useful to leadership in all types of organizations. The program is designed for students whose professional goals are generalist leadership positions in corporate, government, not-for-profit, or community organizations.

Some of the innovative features of Gonzaga's online M.A. in Organizational Leadership program include:

Gonzaga provides a toll-free help line for any student who experiences difficulty or problems with the online environment. Gonzaga also provides "guest" access, allowing an individual to preview a typical online course in the .A. in Organizational Leadership program.

Graduates of the M.A. in Organizational Leadership program have gone on to work for companies such as: American Express, The Boeing Company, Hewlett-Packard Company, Itron, Inc., Potlatch Corporation, Sacred Heart Medical Center, Spokane Police Department, Sterling Savings Association, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard, and Marshalls.

Graduate students may be eligible for Federal Stafford Loans. In addition, graduate students may be eligible for Graduate Assistantships. Company tuition assistance plans may also help individuals to pay for a portion of any Gonzaga University courses that are applicable to an individual's work. Based on the credit-worthiness of the student borrower, alternative educational loan funds are available to assist students as well.

Gonzaga University has a Program Participation Agreement with the US Department of Education for eligible students to receive Pell Grants and other federal aid (e.g., Direct Loans).
