Florida Culinary Institute's faculty, administration, and staff are committed to making sure all students get the highest quality culinary education. The Dean of Culinary Education is Chef Pantone, who is responsible for all curriculum development, lesson planning, staff development, and scheduling. He has more than 24 years of culinary experience that includes 12 years as an executive pastry chef in top-rated hotels and restaurants in New York, Palm Beach, and Miami. Chef Pantone is the recipient of numerous awards and acknowledgements through culinary competitions and community fund raising benefits.
The training atmosphere at Florida Culinary Institute focuses on theory mixed with hands-on activities that ensure graduates have the best opportunity for employment when they graduate. The program includes six eleven week quarters, and instructional time is split between classroom theory presentation and practical applications that begin with basics.
The hands-on approach at Florida Culinary Institute gives students the chance to have their own, first-hand experience with meeting goals in a professional manner. The Institute has an education advisory committee with the goal of ensuring programs remain in touch with the most current trends in the food service industry. Florida Culinary Institute's campus, located in West Palm Beach, is just across the water from its sister city, Palm Beach, Florida. The campus is minutes away from sandy beaches, lush terrain, numerous attractions, sights, and entertainment. West Palm Beach has so many attractions, from fishing and boating to opera, from beautiful gardens to nature centers. The restaurant scene is very exciting, featuring fine Progressive American Cuisine, fresh seafood, and waterside dining. And nightlife is also plentiful, particularly downtown on Clematis Street.
