Many people today have realized that in today's fast-paced, competitive job market, a degree or diploma may not be enough to get the jobs they desire. Half of today's fastest-growing occupations require specialized job-based training. That's why the Computer Career Institute at Johns Hopkins University provides its students with job-based training that gives them the knowledge, skills, and abilities they need to be successful. And students can complete their career program in just a few months.

The Institute offers a number of rewarding fields for students to choose from, as well as a stimulating learning environment. Many programs allow students to start almost immediately, and class sizes are small to ensure students get the individual attention they deserve. For students wishing to start a new career, change careers, or advance within their current career, CCI at Johns Hopkins University can provide an important step toward realizing their goals.

CCI at Johns Hopkins University was established with one goal in mind: to provide people the most direct education path for the career fields most in-demand by employers. The Institute operates more than 11 state-of-the-art classrooms and Labs, delivering more than 15 high-quality, job-based education programs. Certificate programs allow students to get the knowledge and skills they need from a University they trust. Instructors are drawn from a number of occupations and all are accomplished professionals. Programs utilize an Adult-learning methodology that meets the specific needs of every learning style. Students have access to an online support system 24 hours a day, seven days a week that provides them with online practice modules. These modules assist students in expanding their knowledge and understanding, as well identifying their strengths and weaknesses.

The goal of the Institute's Admissions Center is to help students learn about the Institute's programs. Students who have a high school diploma or higher can begin the admissions process by selecting their program of study with the help of a Career Advisor. Then students can apply online to be considered for acceptance into the Institute. While some students pay for their education by cash or credit card, or receive employer tuition reimbursement, many also offset the cost of college by taking an educational loan. From loans to deferred tuition repayment, CCI at Johns Hopkins University offers many options to students, including SLM (Sallie Maie), TERI Alternative Loan Program, P.L.A.T.O. Loan Program, Fleet 1st, Crestar eMax Education Loan, Key Loan, and more.

The goal of career education is to help the student land a great job after graduation. That's why the Institute offers job search skill training, including Resume Writing, Job Search Techniques, and Interviewing Skills. Each student has access to a Career Services Manager who helps them review and edit their resume to frame it in the most positive and effective light. The Institute also offers access to employer listings, on-site interviewing opportunities, and Job Fairs throughout the year. Even as Alumni, students have access to Career Services' professional advice and job search training. While the responsibility for obtaining a job always rests with the students, the Institute has helped thousands of students launch new careers.
