Collins College

Collins College is committed to the technical training, development, and preparation necessary for graduates to succeed. Students learn through hands-on training, using the techniques and tools of professionals. Instructors have real-world experience in their particular field, and give students inside knowledge that will help them succeed in today's job market. The college offers tuition planning, industry-current equipment and labs, small class sizes, flexible class scheduling, and a learning center where students can receive extra assistance. The college's 104,000 square foot campus includes various classrooms, computer labs, darkrooms, a digital print room, video editing bays, and a photographic studio. Also featured are a library/student resource center, student learning centers, and a student store. About 2,000 students attend Collins College flexible schedules, including day and evening classes. Most classes have a teacher student ratio of 1 to between 25 and 35, and the maximum number of students per classroom is 45. Students receive individual attention in larger classes from student assistants. Classrooms and laboratories are equipped with industry-standard hardware and software, and students always work at industry-current workstations.

Located in Tempe, Arizona, Collins College enjoys easy access to Phoenix, the sixth largest city in the United States and one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the west. Its many art museums and corporate downtown area make Phoenix the cultural and financial center of the southwest. Its four professional sports teams, the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Coyotes, Arizona Cardinals, and the Arizona Diamondbacks, will satisfy sports enthusiasts. And for those who enjoy the outdoors, Arizona offers skiing, river rafting, hiking, horseback riding, and many more outdoor activities.

Interested students should apply for admission as soon as possible so they do not miss program start dates. Applicants complete a personal interview with an admissions representative so they can see the campus and get any questions they might have answered. Collins College participates in a variety of financial programs, including Federal grants, loans, work-study options, private loans, and scholarships. And the school's job search workshops cover many subjects, such as resume development, professional etiquette, and portfolio development.
