Brookdale Community College offers 2-year associate degrees in over 50 different areas. Students at Brookdale Community College also have access to a broad range of services, including Cooperative Education, Work-Study, paid and Unpaid Internships, Experiential and Service-Learning, Graduate Placement, and Services for Persons with Disabilities.
Brookdale Community College is an excellent resource for residents of Monmouth County, New Jersey. The College was founded in 1967 with a mandate to provide equal opportunity to all, and today the College does not discriminate against anyone on any basis. The College operates a number of higher education centers across Monmouth County that offer local access to Brookdale's credit and noncredit programs and services, as well as contribute to the economic growth of Monmouth County.
Brookdale Community College is sponsored by the citizens of Monmouth County through the Board of Chosen Freeholders. Enrollment during Fall of 2002 was 12,456 full and part time students - the highest fall term full time students body in Brookdale's history.
Most Brookdale Community College students receive some form of Financial Aid through the College. This aid includes federal and state grants and loans, as well as private scholarships offered through the Brookdale Foundation. Students have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of campus events, clubs, guest lectures, and athletic programs all offered through the Office of Student Life & Activities.
Since Brookdale opened its doors over 30 years ago, the College has grown steadily. Today, the 220-acre main campus features 22 buildings totaling 731,353 square feet. Recently, more buildings have been added, including Larrison Hall, the Center for the Visual Arts, the Bankier Library, and a new Student Life Center. The campus has a 380-seat Performing Arts Center, an Advanced Technology Center with state-of-the-art television and electronic music studios, 10 athletic fields, Brookdale public radio 90.5 The Night, the Children's Learning Center, and 60 computer labs with 1,600 fully networked PCs running all today's mainstream applications.
Brookdale Community College has an open admission policy, which means enrollment is open to anyone 18 years of age or older, anyone who is a high school graduate or holder of an equivalency diploma. Students without a high school diploma or an equivalency diploma may still enroll, as long as they are 18 or older.
