HIPAA Training

A key component of The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) is the regulation of the management and sharing of patient information. Regulations are established for maintaining patient confidentiality and procedures are established for how and when patient information can be released to other parties. Other components include insurance reform, and a national systems for the identification of providers, insurers and employers.

One result is that formal HIPAA training is required for all healthcare industry professionals that come in contact with patient information. The HIPAA regulations require this of medical facilties, who in turn require it of their employees and contractors so that they can remain in compliance.
