Schools that offer a court reporting diploma train you to rapidly and accurately transcribe dictated legal testimony and legal words. Court reporting training will familiarize you with the stenography equipment used, and understand how to translate that into a proper legal document. To be successful, students must possess strong language skills and have the manual dexterity to transcribe more than 200 words per minute.
Court reporters find employment with court reporting agencies, law firms, legal departments in corporations, judges, or even on a freelance basis. Court reporters are in high demand as the needs of the legal profession continue to grow.
