Early Childhood Education
Courses in early childhood education include child development, communications and psychology. A degree in early childhood education is designed to prepare you to develop curriculum for pre-schoolers and young children. Training also prepares you to provide the child with guidance, and how to recognize when discipline is needed. Other topics include children's literature, developing reading skills, and the use of play in learning development.
Early childhood educators play a critical role in helping children learn how to learn, and in developing a basic knowledge base on which all of their future education will lie. In addition, early childhood education is critical in teaching children basic social skills, including how to interact with adults, and how to interact with their peers.
