Race car mechanics work on NASCAR race cars. This can include the construction, maintenance, tuning, and repair of custom designed and built engines. These engines must be tuned for extremely high levels of performance, and reliability under a great deal of stress. In addition, NASCAR mechanics must have a sounr understanding of racing theory.
