New York Colleges And Schools

New York City is the largest city in the United States with a population of over 8 million people. It is located on the Hudson River in eastern New York State. It consists of five boroughs, Queens, Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Staten Island. Collectively, the five boroughs make up New York City. New York is home to 87 schools, ranging in size from less than a hundred students, to New York University with almost 32,000 students. As with any major metropolitan area, New York is a center of art, communication, culture, design, entertainment, fine dining, history, nightlife, and industry. New York is also a major center for print and broadcast media. A student of communication, media, or journalism would be hard pressed to find a better place to study then New York. New York is also a major center for the performing arts. There is a lot to see and do to enhance your education and college experience in the New York. In fact, there is so much to do, the challenge may be to leave enough time to attend classes and study.

For those who want their college experience to include easy access to professional sports, there is no better place than New York. New York is one of the few cities that is home to two Major League Baseball teams, the Mets and the Yankees. New York is also home to the NBA's New York Knicks, the NHL's New York Rangers, and the WNBA's New York Liberty. Nearby Long Island is home to the NHL's New York Islanders who play at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale. The Arena Football League's New York Dragons also play in Uniondale. Across the Hudson River in New Jersey, the Meadowlands Sports Complex, located in East Rutherford, New Jersey, is home to football's New York Giants and New York Jets, as well as the NBA's New Jersey Nets, and the NHL's New Jersey Devils.
