Baton Rouge, the capital of the State of Louisiana, is a city of almost 230,000 people, located about an hour and twenty five minutes northwest of New Orleans in "plantation country". (Note: Baton Rouge's population has grown rapidly in 2005 as more people relocating from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina have moved to Baton Rouge than any other city.) There are 25 schools located in Baton Rouge, ranging in size from less than 100 students, to Louisiana State University with almost 30,000 students.
