Chicago, the windy city, is the largest city in Illinois and the third largest city in the United States, with a population of nearly 2.9 million people. Chicago is located on the banks of Lake Michigan in northeastern Illinois. There are over 80 schools located in Chicago, ranging in size from less than 100 students to the University of Illinois at Chicago with approximately 23,000 students and DePaul University with over 18,000 students. As with any major metropolitan area, Chicago is a center of art, communication, culture, design, fine dining, history, nightlife, and industry.
