Los Angeles Colleges And Schools

As with any major metropolitan area, Los Angeles is a center of art, communication, culture, design, entertainment, fine dining, history, nightlife, and industry. Greater Los Angeles is also a major media center and the capital of the U.S. motion picture industry, centered in Hollywood. There is a lot to see and do to enhance your education and college experience in the Los Angeles area.

As for outdoor activities, Southern California is famous for is mild climate. It is one of the few places in the United States where you can go to the beach in the morning, and snow boarding in the afternoon. Catalina Park, off of Catalina Island, offers the snorkeler or scuba diver the opportunity to view numerous shipwrecks and kelp forests.

For those who want their college experience to include easy access to professional sports, Los Angeles is home to the Arena Football Leagues Los Angeles Avengers, MLB's Los Angeles Angels and Dodgers, Major League Soccer's Club Deportivo Chivas USA and Los Angeles Galaxy, the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers and Lakers, the NHL's LA Kings, and the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks. Nearby Long Beach is also home to the Long Beach Armada, an independent Minor League Baseball team, and the Long Beach Ice Dogs, a minor league affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadians. College football's Rose Bowl is also played in nearby Pasadena.
