Schools that offer webmaster training are preparing you for to create and manage websites for corporations or other organizations. Webmaster courses develop your writing skills, graphic design skills, marketing skills, familiarity with a broad range of web development tools, network engineering knowledge, and database administration capabilities. Webmasters must also have good interpersonal skills as this is required to understand the business requirements that must go into the website's design and operation.
Demand for webmasters is very high. Websites are playing an ever increasing role in the marketing and operations of corporations and other organizations. This growth is expected to continue for the foreseeable future. As a webmaster you will be expected to manage the design, implementation, and maintenance of web sites. This involves leading or participating in the design and implementation of web site projects. Coordination of testing of new site prototypes is often a key responsibility as well. Once a new design is complete the webmaster must upload it to the server in a timely manner, make sure that the upload has taken place correctly, and fix any errors that occur during the upload. People with webmaster training and some experience can make $75,000 a year or more.
