SAT Test Locations
There are hundreds of test centers nationwide including U.S. Territories and Puerto Rico. There are also numerous test locations outside of the United States in hundreds of countries around the world. The best way to determine where to take the test is to look up test centers on the College Board's web site.
When to take the SAT Reasoning Test
Most students take the SAT Reasoning Test at least once in the spring of their junior year. Many take the SAT Reasoning Test a second time either again in the spring of their junior year or in the fall of their senior year. You may take the test as many times as you like. Some colleges and universities do average a student's SAT scores together. Others simply take the best score. It is important to check with your target schools to determine how they will treat multiple SAT scores.
When to Take the SAT Subject Tests
Most students take the SAT Subject Tests in the spring of their junior year or the beginning of their senior year. Common sense would indicate that a student should take a subject test as close as possible to the completion of high school coursework on that subject (for example, take the Biology Subject Test after completing your high school biology course).
The PSAT/NMSQT Test Dates and Locations
The PSAT/NMSQT is administered by high schools and not in test centers. You should check with your high school counselor for test dates, times and locations.
When to Take the PSAT/NMSQT
Most students take the PSAT/NMSQT in the fall of their junior year. Some students first take the test in the fall of their sophomore year.
